The setting down of this experience of the earlier years of Reuben and David Williams has sprung from a desire to place on record, While they may yet be told by one of the participants, the details of What has always been, in our immediate family Cir cle, an exceedingly thrilling incident of my father's boyhood days. The dates, places, and other facts of the story are historically accurate. David Williams is now 76 years old and, retired, lives in Gridley, California. Reuben Williams died in October, 1898, at Trosky, Minnesota, in his 62ud year.
