HOW THE VAGUS NERVE REACTS TO TRAUMA
Tashmeen Khimani Lalani was in an auto accident that left her with debilitating pain, both physical and mental. Diagnosed with PTSD in addition to physical injuries, Tashmeen was forced to take months off from her career as a massage therapist to focus on healing. She began studying anything and everything related to how the brain functions and the body's reactions to various triggers, such as fear and pain. After quite a bit of physiotherapy and psychological therapy, Tashmeen has overcome the crippling physical and psychological pain that held her back from continuing what was a very productive life.
