I long felt a desire to put this subject publicly before my fellow-colonists, and others far away, but who, nevertheless, take a deep interest in all that pertains to colonial matters. The proprietor and editor of the Colonist having kindly Offered me the use of the columns of his paper, which are in a fair measure open for subjects of local or colonial interest. I was enabled, as Opportunity Ofiered, to place before the public Of British Guyana the several comparisons and close-connections existing between the native American Indians and the native Hindus, or Hindu labourers called Coolies.
