After a miserable marriage to a US senator, Chyna Lockhart falls into the arms Dean Emory Jameson, a handsome optometrist. But when she finds Dean with another, her hopes for a happy life are shattered. Meanwhile somebody's been torching buildings in the business district and Dean's office is ruined. Furthermore, he's convinced the woman he loves still carries a torch for her ex. When Dean offers to nurse Chyna after an accident, they finally reveal their true emotions, but as reports surface that Chyna's ex is behind the fires, they are faced with a fight for their love and their lives.
