Excerpt from The Official Record of the State Board of Health of Massachusetts: Together With a Phonographic Report of the Evidence and Arguments at the Hearing
A meeting of the Board was held by adjournment on Thursday, December 4, 187 3, at 9 o'clock A. M., at the State House. Present at that hour: Messrs. Bowditch, Newhall, Frothingham, Webster, and Derby. Dr. Davis arrived at o'clock. Dr. Derby left the room for three minutes between the hours of eleven and twelve. The hearing on complaint against John P. Squire Co. Was re sumed. Mr. E. H. Derby, counsel for Mr. Squire, desired that the protest against proceeding without the presence of every member of the Board should be regarded as renewed from day to day. The examination of Mr. S. P. Sharples was continued I The following witnesses were then examined: Dr. Samuel L. Abbot, Miss Jennie M. Arms, James Hunter, and Charles E. Meyer. At 1 P. M.
