The purpose of this major new series is to show by means of a comprehensive cost-benefit account the importance (or otherwise) of EC membership for each individual member country. Each book in the series is devoted to one country and defines its national goals and interests. Within such a context the contributors analyse the extent to which the objectives of EC policy are achieved under four broad headings - economic policy, foreign policy, government and legal system and social and education policy.
