Part of this work, the greatest portion of the serious part, was composed amongst my pupils for them to write as pieces; others were written for the adults, and gleaned out of the possession of both senior and junior classes; there are several recollected fragments, and some com posed for the occasion; those which have signatures were composed as themes, by pupils in my school.
