Every one, therefore, who contributes to promote their improvement, or to facilitate their efforts, de serves respect and thanks, in rendering a valuable ser vice to them, and by their means, to the whole com munity. And such service is attempted in the little volume now offered to the public. It was undertaken at the particular request of a devoted friend of Sunday schools, -one, who, from long acquaintance with the duties of teachers, was impressed with the conviction that such a work is needed for their encouragement, in advancing the kingdom of the Son of God.
