Excerpt from The Massachusetts Justice: Being a Collection of the Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Relative to the Power and Duty of Justices of the Peace; Alphabetically Arranged, to Which Are Added, Under the Proper Heads, a Variety of Forms, Grounded on Said Laws
This Edition embraces the Laws passed by the General Court from the month of Marc-b, 1795, to the present time. It contains [a number of Forms grounded on those Law, as well as others, which I judged preper to be added to those which are contained in the first edition. Some Laws, which were in force when that edition was printed, have been since repealed, and are left out in this. No de fects ia' the Forum contained in th� farmer edition bane (agreeably to my request in the preface thereof) been pointed out to me but I have amended some of them, and made such improvements in the. Work as in the course of six years have appeared necessary. Think ing it might increase the usefulness of the work, I have, in the Ap pendix, inserted Extracts from sundry Laws of the United States, which may require some duty to be pertormed by Justices of 1116 fence.
