Publisher's Synopsis
Runnymede, 800 years ago to the day, and it's chaos. The King's tent is heaving and you can't walk two paces without tripping over an Archbishop or a baron. When the great charter is finally agreed King John entrusts Aelward Dunktish with the task of getting the copies made, a man most people wouldn't trust to pour water. The king hates the charter, the nobles would like a different charter, and both sides know Aelward has the only copy. A very risky and dangerous situation for the young man. And then he makes a mistake that will go down in history - and makes his personal situation a whole lot worse. Thus begins the tale of the Magna Carta as it might have happened, but probably didn't.
