Publisher's Synopsis
Norman Seeff was born in 1939 in South Africa. After studying medicine, he emigrated to the USA in the late '60s, where he began working as a photographer, at first with little success. After making friends with Patti Smith and photographing Andy Warhol, however, he quickly became a star of the photography scene. Seeff subsequently made a career for himself in LA as art director for United Artists. He created penetrating and memorable portraits of Jonny Cash, Ray Charles, the Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson to name a few. This is his first major monograph.
