Publisher's Synopsis
After the death of the revered Columbanus, Attala, a noble from the Burgundian lineage, is appointed as his successor. Despite his noble background, Attala's true distinction lies in his sanctity. He initially struggles with rebellious monks who resist his strict discipline. Through prayer and compassion, he attempts to guide them back to the path of righteousness. Some monks return, seeking forgiveness, while others face dire consequences for their arrogance.
