This text relates the life of Thomas Day, a little-known writer, and follower of Rousseau, who was involved in a variety of political agitations. He was responsible for creating a miniature welfare state in the wilds of Surrey, and was also a well-known poet, philosopher and environmentalist. He campaigned vigorously against slavery, attacked George III, and became enmeshed in the Amercian Revolution.
