Annabeth Muldoon, the biography writer in Linda Van Meter's last novel, After The Show, has a new assignment. This time, she's been hired to write the biography of Celeste Barlow; who five years ago was one of the country's favorite actresses. Now at 38, she's disappeared from the world of celebrity. After going on an African safari, Celeste was overwrought by the plight of the lions and their dwindling numbers. She left Hollywood and invested her fortune in the creation of a lion sanctuary. Peaceful Pride is the home of seven lions. Celeste has given up her former life for the cats and is convinced she is their mother. Annabeth is hired to write her story in hopes that the money will save the sanctuary from going under. Soon, she realizes that finances aren't the only problem at Peaceful Pride.
