On or about January 24 or 25, 1994, was the day that my life STOPPED! I was sentenced to "29 years to life" in state prison. The full life I had known suddenly became mere existence-I was now Property #H-10557.
During my incarceration, I thought a lot about who and what influenced me during the years I was growing up and becoming D. Devine, the man I now am. To keep my perspective on myself and my experiences that led up to that day in '94, I decided in 2012 to record my memories about family and friends as well as my reflections about life in general. I also include my first-person, close-up view from the Inside on what the penal system is all about. This memoir, written while in prison, includes the good, the badd and all the in-between.
