Illustrations: Besides the two woodcut title-pages, throughout the text are distributed nu merous reproductions ofthe woodcuts on the title page, and many woodcut initial letters and a few head and tail - pieces. This is the first complete edition ofthe Decameron in English, but portions ofit had been translated into verse by different persons at an earlier period.the translation was done anonymously, and the intro ductory matter gives no clue to the translator's identity.
