Neither Sadleir nor Keogh were ever members of the Tenant League. They were sent to Parliament by Irish constituencies against the remonstrance of the League, and when they arrived there and made haste to betray the country, they only did what we always foretold they would do. For a time indeed they figured in the same division lists with the honest Irish members; but you are not unfamiliar with an identical experience in your own time, I think. Would you consider it quite fair to name the present Irish party not after its accredited leaders, but after the scabby sheep of the ?ock? But this is just what you have done in the case I have cited.
