Religiously, prayer has been understood to be a personal matter and means by which we present our concerns and personal desires before God. This perspective of prayer has caused them to go unanswered, and for many, to come to the conclusion that prayer does not work. Our effectiveness in prayer is not determined by how long, hard or passionately we pray, but in our understanding of the laws and principles that impact and govern the God's relationship with man and man's relationship God. Jesus, in His Model Prayer, shares with us the proper protocol, priority and perspective we are to have when praying. Having an understanding of the laws, principles and protocol concerning prayer will cause us to grow, not only in our confidence in prayer, but what we ultimately pray for.
