No doubt the diverse interests in the Labour movement demand attention to many different phases of the social question, but I feel strongly that if we could concentrate our energies for the next year or two on securing possession of the land it would prove the wisest and most effective thing we could do. It would not only bring immense direct advantages, but would open the door to many other reforms that are long overdue.
