Publisher's Synopsis
This is a very personal book for the author as it originates back in 1954 when as a youngster he went for a camping holiday at Seatoller in Borrowdale. The book's narrative therefore sets out from Stuart's home town of Bradford to travel via Ambleside to Keswick and thence to Seatoller. This is a good hook to tell the story of the book title's bus route around. I have to be careful what I say next, but unlike a lot of bus books that are a little focuses let's say, there's something very soothing about this collection of photos of old and not so old buses set in the tranquil settings of the Lakeland towns and countryside. For the enthusiast there's plenty of information about operators, the vehicles they used and the history of the route.
