It focuses on the positives such as 'Today's high points' and there are pages at the back to set personal challenges . There are blank pages to doodle on when you don't have much to write down, or to sum up the week. On the daily pages there are boxes to unload the events of the day in easy bullet point style answers which will encourage even the most reluctant of writers! It also has a space titled 'today's low points'. By writing these things down it can help you to make sense of what happened and can open a conversation between a child and their parent/carer who can then help them process the feelings. I made the 'Busy Brain' Journal series for my 9 year old son who has his struggles with social situations and focusing. It is sometimes hard for him to make sense of everything that he is feeling when it is in his own head so I made these Journals to help him. It has helped him understand his feelings and emotions and has emphasized his positive attributes which can often be overlooked when there are challenges with certain behaviour's. Although I have tried out this journal with my son and others who have certain challenges, it is perfect for anyone with a busy brain! The Journal of a Busy Mind is aimed at 'tweens', teenagers and upwards with its edgy layout and extra pages for growing personalities. The Busy Brain Journal is aimed at primary school aged children with its bright colours and cute graphics.
