It is not our wish nor our purpose to give any Opinion on the merits of the above mentioned controversy between the manage ment and employees of the railway companies we only refer to it at all, in this way, and at this time, as it appears necessary to a full description of the causes that led to the subsequent calamitous results, which our State, not only, but a number of sister States, gif not our entire country, have been called upon to deplore.
