This is a study of the functions and operations of the informal sector of Lagos and how it can contribute to the economic development of Nigeria. The informal sector is the training ground for many workers, and could be a source of growth for the economy if properly guided and managed. The book gives some suggestions on how this could be achieved. The result of one of the studies sponsored by the ILO on the same subject throughout the world, it is based on original data collected in Lagos.
