Publisher's Synopsis
The European Communities Select Committee have considered Document 7022/92 which is a draft Council Regulation establishing a support system for producers of certain arable crops. The Committee took evidence on this and other related areas and found many causes for concern which are outlined in this report. This includes disquiet that the regulations impose a level of bureaucracy never before experienced by UK farmers, interfering with their entrepreneurial skills and taking UK farming away from the market place. There is also concern over the opportunities for fraud.
