Publisher's Synopsis

The purpose of this thesis is to define the necessary accuracy of the TDA for certain meteorological input elements. A few atmospheric input variables (temperature, dew point, and wind speed) are crucial to the accuracy of the TDA output. Proper forecast of the dew point, for example, is critical for accurate use of the model. Errors of a degree or two in dew point can result in a lock-on-range (LOR) thousands of feet in error. Temperature and wind speed had a similar effect on the output, but to a lesser extent.
