My name is Jeremiah Clock. Yes, I know - Tick Tock, Tick Tock. Very funny. I was a corporate executive until I opted for early retirement. Now I ice cakes. Funnier still? Well, not to worry. All that's changed. My neighbour's wife disappeared recently only to be replaced by a half-dead doppelganger. Oh, and by the way, they were 'soft porn' talent scouts - worth a mention, I suppose. On top of all that, I've acquired a new apprentice to fret over - don't want her to get involved. Too dangerous. Any hope of a peaceful life vanished when a whirlpool of murder, manipulation and madness swallowed me whole. Still think it's funny? Not surprisingly, I don't. But I'll tell you straight: I shall not be cowed, intimidated or beaten into submission. If there is passage through this mayhem I will find it, and that's a promise.
