HE ancient parish of sandbach in the county palatine of Chester is one of the largest parishes in that county. It is situated in Northwich Hundred, on the southern Side of the county; the Old market town of Sandbach being about half way between Middlewich and Congleton. It contains no less than thirteen townships, and has two chapelries, where chapels or minor churches were erected at a very early period to represent the mother church in the outlying parts of the Parish.
