This early works was first published in 1911, The following outline of the founding and the development of the Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity has been compiled from data collected by the Grand Historians, Raeburn Cowger (1902-04), Mabel Dunn Madson (1904-05), and the author, (1905-10); from the minutes of the twelve national conventions and the eight grand council meetings; from the thirteen volumes of THE LYRE; from the directories, chapter letters and reports; and from the reports of the National Pan-Hellenic Conferences.....Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900's and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
