They are then further divided by field of application (e.g., environmental, pharmaceutical) and by specific analyte class (e.g., priority pollutants, anticancer drugs). Throughout, each separation is described as fully as possible, listing the sample matrix, analytes separated and quantified, chromatographic parameters used, and abbreviated results. As a consequence, even novice chromatographers have sufficient information to begin to develop a separation on the basis of a citation alone.
