Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Grand Caon of Arizona Through the Stereoscope: The Underwood Patent Map System Combined With Eighteen Original Stereoscopic Photographs
Stereoscopic photographs or stereo graphs are not just little pictures. When a stereograph is held in the hand and looked at with the unaided eye it seems to the inexperienced observer like a pair of photographs j ust alike, mounted side by side on one card. The fact is that the two parts are not alike - the negatives were taken at the same instant, but with two different lenses, set side by side in the camera about as far apart as a man's two eyes.
