The Book of Romans is God's legal brief outlining His eternal plan of Redemption. One man brought sin and ruination into the world, as well as death, and one man brought righteousness and salvation to the world through death. The book of Romans is God's declaration of the method of Redemption as well as the scope of it. Every person who reads this book will have no excuse upon which he may fall back and rely on because all one needs to be made right in the sight of God is herein contained. God is absolutely just, both in His condemnation of mankind and in His redeeming of mankind. Therefore, every person who is confronted with the Word of God and especially the Gospel of Jesus Christ has the responsibility to respond to and abide by its precepts. They are binding because they are the words of our Sovereign God.
