It was the original design of the writer to make the present work the sequel and counterpart to his last published volumes, entitled First Things. In arranging his thoughts for this pur pose, he found the topics so allied to the glory of his Divine Mas ter, that he selected rather the present title, because without ex cluding Last Things, it would furnish him a wider range of useful topics.
