Publisher's Synopsis
This historical work is consumed by two major themes: the insurgence of the Republican Party in a twelve year period, in the State Of Georgia, concluding in 2002 and, the rise and descent of a magnetic and powerful lady politician, Lynn Simms. As she was ascending to the heights of politics in Ga., being the first woman elected to statewide office in Georgia, her avarice overcame her and, with conspirators, stole $600K from her employer, the State Dept. of Education. The book is concerned with good and evil; and the fine line, at times, between the two. While the GOP is struggling against great odds to attain the governorship of Georgia; the lady Player is doing everything to subvert the heroic efforts of the GOP followers. The psychiatric discussions regarding the accused are compelling if not persuasive. The conclusions, of both parties efforts, occur almost simultaneously as the Governorship of Georgia is won in 2002; Mrs. Simms was a target of the investigation as early as 2003. She pled guilty in 2006, receiving 8 years confinement and a $424K fine. Good and evil are not separated by a large margin, and the sides are determined, not by fate, but by character.
