After one of their best friends is executed by the ruthless Leader, the One Who is the One, Wisty and Whit resolve to bring down this evil regime and fight for their parents. But the One has other plans in store for them: he needs Wisty, for she is The One Who Has the Gift. The siblings will have to master their evolving magical powers and risk their lives to find out just what that means.
