Publisher's Synopsis
Fighter pilot Commander Ryan Sheridan, a combat veteran, finds himself in an unfamiliar environment when he is posted as military liaison to the Terran Federation's embassy on a neutral diplomatic planet. Complicated by the presence of an old flame and an amorous alien woman, he becomes embroiled in rising tensions among the galactic powers. As the drums of war threaten to sound among the interstellar powers of the Orion Arm, an ancient mysterious force begins to reassert itself in that region of the galaxy.
