Publisher's Synopsis
We all have stories, mine is no better than anyone else's, all of us leading broken lives to one degree or another in this drama of life. And I find inspiration writing about redemption, about wringing hope from hopelessness. I find solace in writing stories about those living on the fringe of society, yet not quite ever teetering over the edge of oblivion. I've been there, done that, so I'm most definitely writing what I know. Some of these stories have a happy ending, some don't. The world is full of broken people, lonely people, and hungry people. It's part of the natural order of things. As Charlie Chaplin once said, ''In the end, everything is just a gag.'' He apparently was an optimist by nature. Me? Not so. I'd always had a lot of trouble finding a silver lining in every cloud, or a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow. In other words, I may have read fiction, or watched it on the screen, but, I didn't live it. I tried my best to remain in a virtual state of reality, no matter how hard times were to deal with. To think, as I sit here drumming my fingers along this table waiting for inspiration to hit me, all I need is a pad and a pen and a place for something mystical and profound, yet simple and ordinary, to happen. To think, as I sit staring into the lonely eyes of strangers, I used to be just like them, and they are still just like I used to be. We are all connected in the grand scheme of things; we are only human. I write because I have to, in order to still the voices in my head. Because something in the core of my being crawls up and takes hold of me to move pen to paper. The Creative Spirit's work, the good news of grace, drives me into mission, to use my gifts to be a blessing to others. I hope you enjoy the trip; it took me a long time to get here.
