Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Geology of the Country Around Cromer: Explanation of Sheet 68 E
Chalk is the fundamental rock over nearly the whole of the district; but as this is covered by a great thickness of Glacial and Pre-glacial beds, and is either below or but a few feet above the sea-level, it can only be examined on a portion of the coast or in the Bure' Valley near Aylsham.
