The geological field work upon which this report is based was begun in the middle of September, 1902, and finished late in December of the same year. Throughout this period efficient assistance was rendered by Dr. J. Morgan Clements and Mr. Alfred M. Rock. Mr. Clements is chie?y responsible for the careful mapping of the Cretaceous beds and of the Juniper Flat granitic area.
