Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Free Will Baptist, Vol. 116: January 1999
In August of 1997, we commented about the coming millennium and what a unique time it is to be living and being a part of it. This year will mark the end of a century and the end of a one - thousand-year period. (the fact, however, is that the beginning of the new millennium will not actually take place until 2001; but the big celebrations, etc, will take place next year.) When I was in my thirties, I wondered if I would be living when we entered into the new century and the new millennium. At that time it didn't seem likely; seventy years old seemed to be a long way off. Over the years, I have modified that view a great deal until now it is most likely that I will be here living, that is however, I will be a few months short of seventy because my birthday comes in October. Lots of things can happen in a year's time, and even within the span of one hour or one day. Life is uncertain, and in reality we can live only one day at the time.
