Publisher's Synopsis

This vintage book is a supplement to the author's previous book, "The Hoover Administration - A Documented Narrative" (1935). After a conference with Herbert Hoover, it was decided that it would not to be included as part of the original. For the content of this book, Hoover placed at the author's disposal the Hoover Library papers on "War, Revolution and Peace" at Stanford University, and also his own papers at his home in Palo Alto. Although neither a biography of Hoover, nor a complete and accurate definition of his governmental policies, this book does provide a fascinating insight into the "special policies" of the great Herbert Hoover. It will appeal to those interested in the subject. William Starr Myers (1877 - 1956) was a Princeton University professor and historian. This book was originally published in 1940, and is being republished now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition. It comes complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author.
