Publisher's Synopsis
The First Book of Adam and Eve is a religious text that tells the story of Adam and Eve's life before and after their expulsion from the Garden of Eden. The book is a translation of the Ethiopian version of the apocryphal text, which is believed to have been written in the 5th or 6th century AD. The book describes how Adam and Eve were created by God and placed in the Garden of Eden, where they lived in harmony with nature and with each other. However, their peaceful existence was disrupted when they were tempted by Satan and ate the fruit of the forbidden tree. As a result of their disobedience, they were cast out of the Garden and forced to live a life of hardship and toil. The book also includes stories of their children, Cain and Abel, and their struggles with sin and redemption. The translation of the text was done by Dr. S. C. Malan, a British scholar and theologian, in the 19th century. The First Book of Adam and Eve is considered an important religious text by some Christian and Jewish communities, and it provides insight into the beliefs and traditions of early Christianity. And when they came to the opening of the gate of the garden, and saw the broad earth spread before them, covered with stones large and small, and with sand, they feared and trembled, and fell on their faces, from the fear that came over them; and they were as dead. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
