Publisher's Synopsis

The Final Strike deals with yet another confrontation between the union and club owners of Big League Baseball. The owners have decided to close down the league permanently. Carolina Cobras' batboy Billy Bevens pleads with his team not to go on strike and then goes into a coma. The players take another vote and decide not to strike to fulfill Billy's wish. Then club owner Thadius Throckmeyer announces he will open the ball park free to the public the day after the strike begins and pay the players one day's salary to take batting practice and go into the stands to meet the fans. He also declares the scheduled game a forfeit win since the other team didn't show up. The league president supports the program and the entire nation gets behind the batboy's wish to not end the strike.
