I have also to express my thanks to the authorities of the British Museum for the free access granted me to the collections and library contained in the Natural History Museum. Without this, I need scarcely say, the present work could not have been accomplished.
With regard to other works in this series, a volume on Phytophagous Beetles, a concluding volume on the Rhyn chota, and short volumes on Land-shells and on Beetles belonging to the family Cicindelidae are in active preparation. Sanction also has been granted by the Secretary of State for India for a volume on the Orthoptera, and for a third and concluding volume of the Butter?ies.
