Publisher's Synopsis
The Failure of Liberal Education. Even though University education has clearly failed to make development happen in the underdeveloped countries, graduation speeches continue to promise that the liberal education curriculum has equipped graduates with what they need to make development happen. The implication is that university education has not delivered its promises because something is wrong with the underdeveloped countries, their people, or their culture. We show why nothing is wrong with the people of the underdeveloped countries. Instead, something is wrong with university education. A new philosophy of higher education and a curriculum that will make development happen are finally available and presented in this book. Education that is ineffective because of culture is still useless education, and must be urgently replaced with one that works.
