Publisher's Synopsis
George Templeton's car refused to start on the self-starter. He jumped out impatiently, and gave the handle a mighty twist: the engine backfired, dislocating his thumb in the process, so George found himself unable to play golf for the remainder of his holiday. Resorting to country walks as a means to pass the time, George stumbles upon suspicious goings-on at a clifftop farmstead. From these inauspicious beginnings, George and his friends soon find themselves at the heart of an international plot to mass-poison many countries of the world.
