My father, Ying-Pan ChAI, born in 1933, at Hui-Ning County of Gansu Province, China, and he died in 2001. When he was two months old, his father passed away, so that left his mother to raise three sons up. At his twenties, by innocence, he was put in prison for 10 years. Though surviving from the prison, he was soon facing the Cultural Revolution, so he was 'prisoner' out of the prison for over 15 years, till 1979 when his case justified. Although he spent most of the life in prison and, even at the darkest moment, my father persistently kept the hope alive, till the light came.
