Publisher's Synopsis
The modern world is in an arms race with the superbugs - the new, treatment-resistant pathogens. Enter a committed enemy of the US, the shadowy European figure known as "the Baron." He tasks Louise Berker, a beautiful and ruthless eco-terrorist, to lead a team to the US. She will exploit US political unrest and turmoil, and work with naïve US environmentalists to implement the Baron's scheme. Cloaked as a program to outlaw dangerous technologies a new "international" agency will covertly reclassify key US antibiotics and antivirals as environmental hazards. The most effective medicines will be "retired" before the pandemics arrive.
The opponents are led by Senator Gabriel Sitting Bear and his friend, pharmaceutical maker Dr. John Owen. They gather the opposition, but are targeted, hunted, and forced underground.
The Baron's game: Subvert the US constitution in a stealth coup. Enlist Nature to depopulate the USA on a scale no foreign power has ever done. The deadly stealth attack against the US will amount to natural germ warfare, untraceable to the Baron. An unwitting establishment will be asleep when the pandemics arrive.
