The aim of the Preparatory School is to prepare young men of intense purposes for scientific schools and for the various advanced schools operated by the Department of Education of the Y. M. C. A. The subjects offered are those commonly given in the eighth grade of a grammar school and in the four years of a day high school. The amount covered in each subject during the two terms of 16 weeks each is the same as covered in a year in a day high school. This is possible, for the students pursuing the work are mature and in earnest. The work is further facilitated by the elimination of non-essentials.
