This book is about a child called Chimereze. He was born by poor and wretched parents. They have no money to train their children more especially, Chimereze who is eager to acquire university education. He manages to finish his primary education. He takes to barrow-pushing to complement the efforts of his parents in taking care of his younger siblings. His moral background manifests in his encounter with Chief Maduka Okonkwo, later HRM Igwe Maduka Okonkwo, which results in taking, training and making him achieve his aim in life. His immediate parents are very good and kind to him and he respects them to the core. Their relationship becomes stronger as nature paves way for him (Mereze) to marry their daughter, Nnenna. The blessings of God upon Mereze are showered on humanity. He always remembers where he comes from and is ever-ready to assist the less privileged. The name, Chimereze, given to him by his paternal grandmother and prayers offered for him by his biological father and the Anglican Priest later manifest in his life. He single-handedly transforms the destiny of their town and in appreciation of his gesture, he is unanimously crowned the traditional ruler of their town with the title: Ikemba 1 of Amanato Kingdom, which is a manifestation of kingship conferred on him by God.
