Publisher's Synopsis
This special issue is a collection of case studies that focus on historical events and documents that examine a social/psychological viewpoint--the focus on how peace can be achieved. These case studies offer various perspectives on the Graca Machel/UN Study on the Impact of Armed Conflict on Children. The Machel Study was carried out by an independent expert, Ms. Graca Machel, to make explicit the relationship between the catastrophic conditions to which children and women are exposed in conflict, and the way in which human rights are protected, relief is delivered, and conflicts are resolved.
